MEET the DETFTA
The Detroit Food Truck Association, or DETFTA, is an association of the best street food vendors in Michigan. They are a varied, carefully selected group of culinary experts who work in the five boros of Michigan, Long Island, and Westchester.
We are dedicated to connecting Detroiters with our members for distinctive food truck catering experiences because we think that food unites people. At the same time, we work hard to preserve Detroit's iconic street food culture through our advocacy work.
Above all, we are community-driven, constantly striving to maintain excellent food, uphold street safety, and improve the whole food truck experience.

DETFTA's primary focus is full-service mobile catering. We create unique, memorable experiences by connecting customers with a range of local food truck vendors. With over 100 members, we provide a diverse range of food trucks and cuisines that will satisfy any desire and elevate any event.
We cater a variety of events, including festivals, happy hours, corporate and employee appreciation events, weddings, birthday parties, and bar mitzvahs. We have the answer for any event.

Advocacy and Empowerment
The Detroit Food Truck Association empowers local food truck businesses in two unique and important ways.
First, DETFTA ensures that our vendors are opened to a world of new business opportunities through event catering and other streams of revenue. Because DETFTA was founded by Ben Goldberg, a former food truck owner who experienced first-hand how challenging it can be to rely solely on fickle street sales, our association is designed to ensure our vendors stay relevant and busy year-round through these catering opportunities that, in turn, empower our members to grow their businesses.
Second, DETFTA spends a significant amount of time and resources lobbying the city and state government in order to represent the best interests of our members, as well as the food truck industry at large. When it comes to potential policy changes, rules, or regulations that have a direct impact on our members, we don’t miss a beat. DETFTA always has its finger on the pulse of the industry, so we can use our expertise to make the voices of local mobile businesses heard.
